Young Vinay a student of ninth standard aims to become a doctor whereas six year-old Muthuraj is still enjoying his childhood. These children enjoyed their day at an event organized by Team Prayaas comprising EPGP students of IIM Bangalore. The event was organized on 10th July turned out to be a memorable one for the children from Surabhi foundation at the MDC convention hall of IIM B.
It is noteworthy that, Surabhi foundation trust is an NGO based in Bangalore, which provides shelter, food, clothing, and healthcare for underprivileged children. EPGP students and their families welcomed 24 children of the foundation to the IIM Bangalore campus for a fun-filled Sunday afternoon. Multiple interaction events had been planned starting with a graceful performance by Rakshaki on her veena and an origami workshop by Kartik. The kids had fun dancing to the tunes of popular Kannada songs like ‘aluma dolma’ with Gaurav and Vasu teaching the kids some vivid dance moves. The kids enjoyed the drawing competition and they had a great time putting their creativity on paper. Some volunteers also tried their hands on revising their drawing skills, but they were no match to the talented kids. Prayaas team had arranged for refreshments.
Prayaas volunteers again did a commendable job of arranging transportation and refreshments for the kids and pulled off the event successfully. All the volunteers were so amazed and involved by the talents and energy levels of the kids that for a few hours, they forgot about all the assignments, class tests and even mid-term exams. The Prayaas team along with the volunteers from the EPGP batch of 2016 have pulled off yet another successful event and pledge to keep up the good work in the days to come.
